C’mon, Oprah! Put politics aside…

“I don’t consider myself political and I seldom interview politicians. So when I decided to talk with you [Barack], people around me were like, ‘What’s happened to you?’ I said, ‘I think this is beyond and above politics.’ It feels like something new.” — Oprah

- From O, The Oprah Magazine

I’ve been amused to see the recent articles about Oprah’s reported refusal to interview Sarah Palin on her show.  After gushing over Obama during the Democratic primaries and through his nomination, Oprah is exhibiting what seems to be race and/or gender bias in not allowing the first woman ever to be nominated to the Republican presidential ticket to be acknowledged and speak on her show.  After championing the advancement of women for so many years, doesn’t this seem odd to anyone else?  I personally like Oprah and admire her incredible accomplishments but I am very curious to know what is driving this decision and hope it is not another example of bias in the media.
